William H. Buchanan, Jr. began his legal career at Sherman & Sterling (1963-1970) where he worked in the New York and Paris offices.  Subsequently, Mr. Buchanan joined the Ruben H. Donnelly Corporation (1970-1997) where he became Senior Vice President and General Counsel.  Upon the acquisition of Ruben H. Donnelly by the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, he became Vice President Law (head of the worldwide legal department) from 1976-1997.  Following D&B, Mr. Buchanan concurrently became President of the Spencer Trask Spin Off Group and Executive Vice President of the Spencer Trask Intellectual Capital Company for venture capital activities (1998-2001).  Mr. Buchanan is a graduate of Princeton University (AB) and Harvard Law School (LL.B) and served in the U. S. Marine Corps.  Additional activities include Princeton University - Class Treasurer - 1989-1994; Class President - 1994-1999; Alumni Council - 1999-2002, Princeton Club of New York - Board of Governors, Treasurer, Vice President-Finance, Vice President-House - 1980-1993, and American Society of Corporate Secretaries - Board of Directors, President of New York Region, National Conference Chairman, National Treasurer and Chairman of Budget and Audit Committees - 1969-1997.
